In banking, information is a critical business asset. Contracts, financial records, legal documents and loan files contain valuable data that needs to remain secure, traceable and readily accessible. When this information exists in large volumes and in physical form, the challenge goes far beyond simply digitising documents. It is about transforming that information into a reliable digital environment, with accuracy and control at every stage of the process. This was at the heart of a major project delivered by IID for Eurobank, involving the management and digitisation of a large volume of physical loan files as part of a portfolio transfer process.
When digitisation requires accuracy and traceability
Managing large volumes of physical loan files involves much more than converting paper documents into digital files. Every file needs to be recorded, digitised and properly documented, while ensuring an accurate link between the physical and digital records. As part of the Eurobank project, IID managed the registration, digitisation and documentation of the files, using OCR technology and applying strict Chain of Custody and security procedures. This approach ensured full traceability and reliable document management throughout a process where accuracy and business continuity were critical.
From physical files to usable information
The value of digitisation is not simply about moving a document from paper to a screen. It lies in organising information in a way that makes it secure, searchable and available when and where it is needed. For a banking organisation managing large volumes of documents, this can make a real difference — both in day-to-day information management and in complex processes such as portfolio transfers. IID’s experience in projects of this scale combines technology with structured processes, from digitisation and OCR to Document Management and Information Management, with a strong focus on security and traceability.
IID’s expertise in the banking sector
The Eurobank project is a strong example of IID’s ability to deliver complex, large-scale digitisation and information management projects in an environment where security, accuracy and business continuity are essential. For IID, digital transformation does not stop at digitising a file. It is about creating a reliable digital environment where information can be organised, searched and effectively put to use.
